A Storms Brewing

Pure Heroine blasting, torrents of rain outside, Celtic wardrobe inspiration

I think that everybody wants to be heard, and the easiest way to be the loudest is to be the hater.

Tavi Gevinson, creator of Rookie Mag, empowering young women with a kick ass fashion sense. Tavi started her fashion blog Style Rookie at eleven years old. At that time she noticed that she wore clothes different from people her age and for her love of personal and individual fashion has carried through to her teen years. Tavi started Rookie Mag at fifteen years of age which is the best online magazine available for teenage girls at this moment in history I think you should read it.

Tavi uses mostly skirts, jackets, cardigans and collars in her wardrobe. Her style oozes of thrift shop queen and not keeping up with the trends but following her kooky and creative fashion she has unknowingly made herself into a fashion and media icon.

Virgin Suicide-esque

The flower crown is almost like a Rookies uniform, they are mostly worn on rookie meetups and are easily hand crafted. Instead of making a flower crown I put roses in my hair: hahaha putting up photos later

 Tavi must haves:

Using old clothes from my wardrobe I tried to create an outfit similar to Tavis style

Lace Burgundy Shirt - Hand Me Down
 Saint Christopher Necklace - Gift
Grey Crop top Jumper - All About Eve

 Tapestry Skirt - Temt
Burgundy Purse - Hand Me Down
Light Blue Crochet Socks - Rubi
 Loafer Style Shoes - School

Rings and Bracelet are hand me downs

Wing eye liner is one of Tavi's signature looks

Thank you to my seven year old photographer

New Year, New Me?

Aloha readers, if I have any left?

2013 was a weird year to say the least. Not much happened for me and it was a turmoil of emotions.
Even Christmas and my birthday didn't feel special, so when New Years was approaching I was relieved. I feel like I need change but I'm anxious about making resolutions as Im a procrastinator and lazy. Even my dreams were anxious about having to think of resolutions for New Years.

Heres what happened in 2013:

Meet Benny Tipene
Became a feminist

Met a boy gasp!
Went to 1D concert

Passed NCEA Level 1
Finished art board for school

Lots of success from Paramore
Writer for instagram magazine @moonrisemag

I want many things to happen in 2014 and not with a fizzle but with a bang. Im going to make 2014 extraordinary and less stressful by improving my inner and outer self.

Get Fit. I want to put better foods in my body and feel more energetic. Drink water everyday which I never do. Also do a form of exercise every morning, even if its just following Victorias Secret Sport videos (which are amazing).

Blog Better. I'd like to be putting up a blog post every Friday, an instagram photo every second day and reach 3000 followers on my tumblr, 740 to go.

Adventure. Im going to learn methods to deal with my anxiety and kick my OCDs butt. This will hopefully make me less worried about the future and more likely to improve my independence so that I can go into town more, try new things and be with the family and friends that I love. Im going to make an item of clothing, learn how to do an ace Miranda Sings impression and make a list of all the bad stuff and get rid of it. Just say yes!

Looks. Buy less clothes that I will use more, try new styles with makeup and clothes. Realise that I dont need makeup to be beautiful.

Love. The most important relationship is with myself. My mind and body need constant harmony to develop. To be more truthful to myself and others. To find love but not rely on it. To experience things and go with the flow.

Organise. My school work, my wardrobe, my mind, my life.

Happy New Years guys! Make this year a good one!
